Willie Bonds is Confirmed as Warden of George W. Hill

On Tuesday, February 10, the County Jail Oversight Board confirmed Willie Bonds as the new warden of the George W. Hill Correctional Facility. Bonds has been the Deputy Warden for Security and Training since 2024. With the departure of Laura Williams back in the Fall, he was advanced to Interim Chief Deputy Warden, working alongside Interim Warden Donald Mascellino.

Bonds has a long career in corrections, having come up through the ranks in New Jersey and retiring as Acting Deputy Commissioner. After a brief retirement, he came over to GWH.

The position was posted nationwide and a number of candidates were interviewed before the Board selected to promote Bonds.

The leadership of DelCo CPR will be meeting with Bonds and his team during the month of February.
