our mission

We are the voice for Delaware County’s citizens to end mass incarceration and ensure that those who are confined are safely housed with dignity and compassion.

what we believe

Incarceration impacts our communities unequally and can be directly linked to poverty, addiction and other social factors. We believe this inequality is exacerbated by the dearth of community mental health and other support resources. We believe that our justice system must transform from one based on retribution to one based on restoration. We believe that cash bail promotes this inequality without improving community safety.

what we do

We are guided by the stories of those who have encountered our justice system, center their voices and advocate for less confinement. We are advocates for bail reform and diversionary outcomes. Where confinement is ordered, we serve as the community partner to monitor conditions inside our facilities and promote the modern, outcome-based, and trauma-informed environment which will raise people up rather than bring them down.
